The new medicine

One of the many testimonies we receive at Kairos, revealing what goes on in the inner workings of hospitals, far from the media spectacle.

« I am non-injected. I did the covid in October 2020. A little fever, loss of taste, no fatigue. Not even a flu.
This Thursday, April 14, at the end of the day, I start to feel a temperature and a sore throat. I am 38.8° in the middle of the night. Since I work as an administrator in a nursing home, I will not go to work on Friday and I will call my doctor.
- What are your symptoms?

-Very sore throat and fever.

- Didn’t you do a quick test?

-Uh…no.

- Come see me tonight at 6:10 pm.

- OK, fine.

- Wait, but you are not vaccinated and there are 9 positive cases in your institution. Don’t come, I’ll send you for a PCR test. Take Dafalgan 3 times a day. We will meet again on Tuesday after the Easter weekend. Anyway, if it’s a flu we don’t give anything and if it’s covid it’s the same!

This morning, only 37.6 temperature but the sore throat is still very painful to swallow, especially at night. I rubbed my tonsils with a preparation from the pharmacist, which had been prescribed to me when I was a child because I had a lot of angina. The cotton was yellow and red with blood. My tonsils are raw!

Conclusions:

1/ I was not seen by my doctor who could have seen right away that I had strep throat and could have prescribed what was needed; positive test or not!

2/This approach of sending the symptomatic non-injected (no matter what symptoms) will raise the Sciensano curve of the non-injected positives. I’m not at all sure how reliable these tests are! You can make them say whatever you want, nobody checks. So I am positive for covid for the2nd time.

Two years of hard work and we are still at the same point! Thank you for your attention and for fighting for us all. We don’t give up.
Thanks also for the Doctothon on side effects.
Great Easter weekend! »

I.
