FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION UNDER THREAT

Based on a joint communication to the European Parliament, the European Council, the Council, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions, proposing a text on the theme of « Combating misinformation in the field of covid: disentangling the truth from the false « *, the philosopher Valérie Tilman invites us to reflect on the notion of the « right to freedom of expression », a fundamental right in the functioning of a democracy. Censorship, threat, hybrid threat, legitimate or illegitimate right, disinformation or misinformation, … so many notions whose definition is far from obvious.
