The Woke movement, which emerged in the wake of the MeToo and Black Lives Matter movements, attacks all those who do not respect the codes of anti-racism and antisexism. From inclusive writing to the installation of transgender toilets, from the elimination of certain words that are too « connoted » to the revision of entire sections of history, nothing escapes the vigilance of this movement, which is draped in the best intentions in the world: the fight against discrimination of all kinds and anti-racism. But what exactly is behind this new ideological fashion?

Dans un discours de 1965, Martin Luther King appelait les jeunes à rester éveillés (« awake ») et à être une génération engagée. Le terme semble ensuite être entré en léthargie, jusqu’en 2008, où la chanteuse américaine Erykah Badu chante : « I stay woke ». Mais ce n’est qu’à partir de 2013 et le mouvement Black Lives Matter que le terme fait véritablement son entrée dans l’arène socio-politique.
