Ukraine and Russia: understand before you judge

Pascale Vanhal The war in Ukraine is treated in a very one-sided way, in the dominant media: classic dichotomy of good guys and bad guys; few references to the past, especially to the war in Donbass, which has been raging since 2014; no more to past Western operations, which shed light on those of today (Afghanistan, 1979; Serbia, 1999; Syria, 2014; …); silence, also, on the coup d’état fomented by the USA and which will put the king of confectionery, Viktor Poroshenko, in power; absence of reference to the Nazi Ukrainian militias, not failing to recall Syria, where, those who in the West are terrorists have turned into moderate rebels (financed by the CIA)… However, taking into account the point of view of each actor is essential to understand the present and to envisage a dialogue. Of course, this can be done without any preconceived notions that one or the other would be better morally.
