This sad chapter fits well into the « being right and being right are two different things » model. B. has been able to impose. Ochs challenged from his doctoral perspective. He is by far the only physician to have challenged them, but unfortunately, the only one to have done so openly. Since we are obviously faced here with a discrepancy between a deontological code, which always has something political about it, and the Hippocraticoath or thehe can still challenge this code beforethe European Court of Human Rights.
Drs. Ochs is a strong, serene character, a friend, a colleague and — for those of us who have needed him professionally — a lovely, humane doctor who pays a high price for his integrity.
